Update! The Hot Dog Lunch and several generous donations netted our Baptist Men the entire $2,500 needed to build one home for a Haitian family. This money has already been sent on to the NC Baptist Men for their effort to provide these homes. We are very happy to be a part of providing one of those homes!

Our women and our children's ministry provided a meal at our local soup kitchen "A Blessing" on Monday, August 2nd. The children helped with dessert and also had snack pack to send along with each diner for later in the day. Thank you to everyone who served that day!

Five LBC members journeyed to the Campbell University campus in March to take part in Disaster Relief Training provided by the NC Baptist Men. Carl and Mary Eason, Phyllis Rigsbee, Susan Peoples, and Pat Medlin spent 2 days and one night getting certified in their own chosen area of expertise. It was a wonderful experience not to mention that they are all now ready to be called upon to assist on a recovery team the next time the NC Baptist Men are sent to a disaster area. The NC Baptist Men provide this training on a rotating basis. Call the NC Baptist Men office for more information if you would like to become more involved!
