You are all invited to be a part of the Vacation Bible School “HIGH SEAS EXPEDITION” at Louisburg Baptist Church from Monday, July 19th through Thursday, July 22nd! Amazing Bible adventures, cool crafts, great games, awesome music, and swashbuckling snacks await you! Grab your friends so everyone can get on board! The children are all invited to the home of Barbara and Ray Hyman on Sunday, July 18th right after church for their own kick-off to VBS. The following schedule will begin on Monday evening, July 19th:

5:30 pm – Supper served in the fellowship hall for the children, youth, and VBS volunteers
6:00 pm – Children start their first class
Supper served in the fellowship hall to adults
6:30 pm – Adults go to their class
8:30 pm – All classes finish up

Our adult class will be taught this year by Rev. Jack Glasgow, pastor of Zebulon Baptist Church, titled Ethical Issues Confronting Christians Today, a study based on Psalm 1.

Monday – “Walking in the Counsel of the Wicked”
A look at the sources of ungodly advice
- The counsel of materialism
- The counsel of friends who tell you “to do what makes you happy”
- The counsel of judgmentalism

Tuesday – “Standing in the Pathway of Sinners”
A look at the temptations that derail Christians
- Searching for a healthy sexual ethic
- The continuing toll of drug and alcohol abuse
- The moral abyss of entertainment
- The pitfalls of social networks and text messages

Wednesday – “Sitting in the Seat of the Scornful”
A look at the prevalent scornful pessimism and spirit of complaint
- The loss of civility in our politics
- The blurring of lines between news, entertainment, and opinion
- Mistrust of institutions, leaders, government, and authority
- Rejection of miracle and mystery

Thursday – “The Tree Firmly Planted”
A look at the blessed life
- Ethics based on Biblical study and reflection
- The seven roots of Christian growth

4. Fellowship
- The life that “yields its fruit in season”

VBS will begin each night with supper provided by our adult Sunday School classes. So moms, don’t cook. Just round up the family and come on to set sail for the High Seas Expedition! Bring your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Everyone is welcome!
